New Asset for The Asset Works
The Asset Works, operating in leased asset management and verification services, has announced the appointment of Lindsay Town as non-executive Chairman. In this role, Town will provide The Asset Works’ board with in-depth leasing industry knowledge, insight and expertise to assist with strategic direction and market positioning of the business.
A frequent public speaker, Town brings with him over 35 years of experience in leasing and financial services, having previously served on the boards of both Bank of Scotland Corporate, and the Finance & Leasing Association. He is also currently managing director of advisory company, Kent Asset Solutions.
Lindsay Town began his career at North West Securities, before joining Barclays Mercantile in 1978, followed by subsequent moves to Security Pacific, Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, Lloyds TSB, and Pricewaterhouse Coopers. He was then headhunted to join Halifax (now HBOS) to lead and build a new asset finance business, and was promoted to the board of Bank of Scotland, Corporate, in October 2006.
David de Silva, director & co-founder of The Asset Works, said, "It’s a real coup for us to be able to welcome Lindsay as our new Chairman. Lindsay is rightly regarded as a prominent leader in the leasing industry and will be invaluable to us as we continue to build our business. He is a brilliant, clear thinking businessman, and his knowledge and expertise in strategy and leasing will be crucial to our ongoing expansion."
The new chairman was also pleased with the appointment, saying, "It’s an exciting time to be joining The Asset Works’ board, both in terms of the company’s stage of development, and in terms of its relevance to the asset finance industry. After much development, the company has launched a number of innovative new technology services enabling lessors to streamline their asset management processes, and improve the integrity of their asset data, whilst at the same time significantly reducing both costs, and helping to reduce instances of fraud."
The Asset Works provides global asset management and verification services specifically to the leasing industry. Their assetaware™ asset management solution enables lessors to obtain asset identification and location data, together with condition and usage information and asset photographs. In addition, their assetaware+™ solution provides secure asset verifications by incorporating proprietary anti-tamper technology to prevent a label’s removal from an asset without the lessor becoming aware.
